The Russian government has submitted to the State Duma a second package of measures to protect citizens from telephone and Internet fraud. The document was posted in the Duma's electronic database on December 26.

"The draft law, in particular, proposes to regulate the issues of interaction between telecom operators and credit institutions in order to prevent fraudulent actions committed using information and communication technologies," the explanatory note says.

It is noted that the document introduces an extrajudicial blocking of Internet resources distributing malicious software and so-called phishing sites that are created to deceive users and steal their personal data.

Earlier, on December 3, Mikhail Delyagin, deputy chairman of the lower house of Parliament's committee on economic policy, said that the Just Russia faction had submitted a number of bills to the State Duma (State Duma) aimed at eliminating opportunities for fraudulent transactions such as the Valley scheme. The deputy noted that in the first half of the year, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) initiated more than 5.8 thousand cases.
