Oleg Donskikh, a former official of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, was sentenced to 13 years in a fraud case, causing damage to the state by 2.6 billion rubles. This was announced on December 26 by the prosecutor's office of the Lipetsk region.

The agency supported the state prosecution in the criminal case of nine Donskoy crimes under Part 4, Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and Part 1 of Article 222 ("Fraud on an especially large scale by a group of persons by prior agreement and illegal possession of firearms").

It was established that from 2007 to 2011, the defendant, together with other persons, developed a scheme for embezzlement of funds from Rosagroleasing and Rosselkhoznadzor. To do this, fictitious leasing agreements were concluded through legal entities controlled by him and his accomplices, as well as agreements to obtain loans for the purchase of equipment allegedly for the development of organizations owned by him and his accomplices.

"However, the borrowed money was not used for its intended purpose, but was stolen by Donskoy and his accomplices. Their actions caused damage to the victims in the amount of more than 2.6 billion rubles," the department's Telegram channel says.

Donskikh was wanted for more than 12 years and was detained by law enforcement agencies in 2024. The defendant was also found guilty of possession of firearms. A revolver of the Nagant system was found during a search at his place of residence. The ex-official will serve his sentence in a correctional colony of the general regime.

The day before, the Moscow Interregional Transport Prosecutor's Office announced the verdict of the former deputy head of the Kazan railway Station, who was found guilty under Parts 3 and 4 of art. 159 of the Criminal Code ("Fraud on a large and especially large scale"). The court sentenced him to five years of probation, and imposed a fine of 950 thousand rubles in favor of the state.
