HC Metallurg has extended the contract with head coach Razin for two years
Metallurg Hockey Club from Magnitogorsk has extended the contract with head coach Andrey Razin. This was announced on December 26 on the club's website.
"The extension of the contract with Andrey Razin is a logical step in the development of our club. Moreover, we are talking not only about the team of craftsmen, but also about the entire system," said Evgeny Biryukov, Metallurg's sports director.
The new agreement is for two years, until the end of the 2027/28 season. Andrey Razin took over Metallurg in the 2023 offseason and led the team to victory in the Gagarin Cup in his first season.
In the current KHL championship, Magnitogorsk is leading both in the Eastern Conference and in the summary table. Razin previously played for Metallurg as a player, became the champion of Russia and the Euroleague, the winner of the Cup of Russia and the Golden Stick and Golden Helmet prizes.
On December 17, Moscow HC Dynamo announced the appointment of Vyacheslav Kozlov as head coach. As Dynamo's senior coach, Kozlov won the Continental Cup (2024) and the bronze medalist of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) championship (2025). Prior to Kozlov, Alexey Kudashov held the position of head coach from April 2021.
