The head of the European People's Party (EPP), Manfred Weber, proposed sending European Union (EU) troops to Ukraine, which will act together with Ukrainian soldiers under the flag of Europe. This was reported on December 25 by the newspaper Die Zeit.

"I would like to see soldiers with the European flag on their uniforms working side by side with our Ukrainian friends to achieve peace," he said.
