Alyona Gavrilova, a doctor at the Department of Sleep Medicine and a member of the Association of Somnologists, said that daytime sleep during the lunch break can be both beneficial and undesirable — it all depends on the person's condition.

According to her, in the presence of insomnia, daytime sleep can worsen the quality of night rest. At the same time, residents of large cities who get up early and go to bed late can get a short nap during the day to help compensate for the accumulated lack of sleep and restore strength, the specialist said in an interview with aif.ru Thursday, December 25th.

At the same time, the somnologist emphasized that daytime rest should be short — optimally 15-20 minutes to limit the first phase of sleep. Prolonged sleep can lead to fatigue, headaches, lethargy and slow thinking, as well as negatively affect nighttime sleep.

Somnologist Sofia Cherkasova on December 24 advised Russians not to think about sleep patterns on New Year's Eve and have fun, but to restore the regime on January 4 or 5, notes 360.ru .

On December 22, Alena Gavrilova, a member of the Association of Somnologists and a doctor at the Sleep medicine department, recommended that you do not stay in bed if you cannot fall asleep. According to RT, this will prevent you from producing negative thoughts and emotions.

In October, neurologist Vladimir Martynov said that adults need 7-9 hours of sleep. At the same time, he added that some people get enough sleep for six hours, although the specialist called such cases exceptions, IA Regnum clarifies.

In August, Alena Gavrilova, a member of the Association of Somnologists and a doctor at the sleep medicine department, told NSN that the phone should be put away an hour or two before the planned sleep in order to calm down and not overload the brain with information. According to her, even positive videos can disrupt sleep and affect brain function.

In July, doctor Andrey Kondrakhin recommended a 30-minute nap to maintain strength if there is no way to relax for a long period. Such a dream will not restore your strength completely, but it will help you survive the inconveniences that have arisen.
