By the end of 2025, the volume of construction, reconstruction and repair of highways in Russia increased by 14% compared to 2024 and amounted to 28 thousand km. About 213 million square meters were laid. m of asphalt. This was announced by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin at an open meeting of the Regional Development Board on December 25.

According to him, 201 billion rubles have been allocated for advanced financing of road works this year. By the end of the year, the share of federal highways restored to a standard state reached 74%. Among the roads of the backbone network, this figure reached 75%, the road network of the largest urban agglomerations — 85%, and regional roads — 56%.

The Deputy Prime Minister named the opening of the 275 km Durtyuli-Achit high—speed section as the key projects of the current year, thanks to which it is now possible to get from Yekaterinburg to Moscow in 16 hours. The M-12 highway is planned to be extended by 300 km along Tyumen next year.

In addition, Khusnullin pointed out that in 11 months of this year, 12.6 thousand people died on Russian roads, which is 3.8% lower than in January—November last year. Compared to 2019, the number of people killed in road accidents decreased by 24 thousand people, and the number of injured — by about 100 thousand people, while the number of cars increased by almost 9%.

On the eve of December 24, it was reported that the right of free passage for domestic electric vehicles on federal toll roads in Russia is planned to be extended until 2026.
