The UK announced the completion of work on the case of embezzlement of more than 500 million rubles from the Ministry of Defense

A case of embezzlement from the Russian Ministry of Defense of more than 500 million rubles on government contracts in Dagestan has been investigated. This was reported on December 24 by the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation.

According to TASS, the main military investigation Department has completed investigative actions against employees of FSUE "Main Directorate of Special Construction" Astemir Abayev and Vitaly Pronushkin, General Director of Trust LLC Marat Magomedov, as well as citizens Robert Gevorkov and Tagir Abdullayev, accused of fraud on a particularly large scale.

The investigation revealed that the defendants had signed state contracts for the construction of facilities in Dagestan in the amount of over 1 billion rubles. When fulfilling government contracts, the defendants overestimated the cost of building materials, as a result, they stole more than 500 million rubles.

The court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention for Abayeva, Pronushkina and Magomedov. Gevorgov and Abdullaev are on the international wanted list. In order to ensure possible property penalties, the assets of the accused were seized in excess of 100 million rubles.

On December 1, the press service of the courts of the Sverdlovsk region reported that a resident of St. Petersburg was convicted of embezzlement of almost 320 million rubles allocated for the fulfillment of the state defense order. The court found that in the period from March to May 2020, Andrei Vinogradov created and led an organized criminal group to steal funds under a government contract for the construction of an object in Primorsky Krai. Using controlled companies and fictitious guarantees, the attackers received an advance payment of 319.6 million rubles.
