In 2025, the metropolitan authorities were actively engaged in the construction of the city subway. New stations and depots were being built, and additional lines were being laid. The mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, spoke about the results of construction work in the Moscow metro in his channel in the messenger MAX.

In 2025, a number of important events took place in the development of the Moscow metro. One of them was the opening of the main section of the Troitskaya line. The length of the new branch line is 27 km, the line includes 11 stations and 5 transfers. Currently, the second stage of construction of the southern section, which includes 6 stations to Troitsk, is actively progressing. In 2029, upon completion of construction work, the length of the new metro line will reach 43 km.

The Rublyovo-Arkhangelsk metro line is being built at a rapid pace. In 2026, its first section with a length of 8.7 km will be opened. It will include 5 stations, and a new branch line will stretch from the Business Center to General Karbyshev Boulevard. The completion of the line is planned for 2027, its total length will be almost 28 km, and it will include 12 stations. The line will extend to Krasnogorsk.

In addition, the construction of the Biryulevskaya line has started in Moscow, which will provide underground transport to the areas of Biryulyovo. The first section, including the stations "ZIL" and "Island of Dreams", will open in 2028, and in 2029 the construction of the branch line will be completed. It will include 10 stations, the length will be 22.2 km.

It is also planned to extend the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya line to the Golyanovo area in the coming years. The project is scheduled to be completed in 2028. And by 2030, it is planned to open the Yuzhny Port and Dostoevskaya stations on the Ring Line.
