The Federation Council has approved a law that increases fines for imposing additional goods and services on consumers to 500,000 rubles. The decision was made at a meeting on Wednesday, December 24, and was broadcast on the authority's website.
According to current legislation, fines for the imposition of services and goods range from 2 to 4 thousand rubles for officials and from 20 to 40 thousand for legal entities.
Under the new law, penalties for the specified offense will increase. They will amount from 50 thousand to 150 thousand rubles for officials and individual entrepreneurs, legal entities can be fined from 200 thousand to 500 thousand rubles.
The State Duma (State Duma) adopted a bill to increase fines for imposing additional goods and services on consumers in the second and third readings on December 23.
On October 21, Yaroslav Nilov, head of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs, sent a letter to Mikhail Murashko, head of the Russian Ministry of Health, asking him to consider imposing unnecessary paid services on patients in private medical institutions. The gap between employee salaries and bonus payments, he said, is sometimes five to six times.
