Bundestag MP urges Europe to negotiate with Putin

Alexander Hoffmann, leader of the Christian Social Union (CSU) faction in the Bundestag, called on the leaders of the European Union (EU) to hold talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin. His words were quoted by the Handelsblatt newspaper on December 23.

"Europe should see itself as a player in this field. We must represent European interests, and this can and should be done in negotiations with Putin," the publication says.
