Beijing has called on Kiev to immediately correct mistakes after statements by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky about possible measures against Chinese citizens and companies. This was announced on December 23 by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian.

"China has consistently opposed illegal unilateral sanctions that violate international law and are not authorized by the UN Security Council," he stressed at a briefing.
