The Kremlin commented on Vance's words about the "breakthrough" of the United States in the negotiations.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on December 22 that he did not know what U.S. Vice President Jay Dee Vance meant when he spoke of a "breakthrough" by the United States in negotiations to resolve the Ukrainian conflict.

"To be honest, I don't really have information about what is meant. But it is hardly possible to resolve such a complex problem in the public mode. But, on the other hand, we will probably get some clarifications over time," Peskov said on the Rossiya 1 TV channel.

The press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation noted that the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine is hardly possible to engage in public space.
