German Chancellor Friedrich Merz will be among the losers in the framework of the peace talks on the settlement of the Ukrainian crisis, no matter how they end. This opinion was expressed on December 21 by former Austrian presidential candidate, politician and publicist Gerald Grosch at a political debate on his YouTube channel.

"I do not know if [US President Donald] will win. Trump won [in negotiations on a peace plan for Ukraine]. I don't know. I can't tell you. But I can say with 100% certainty who will be the loser. And it will be Merz, who, like a German governess, <...> considers himself a negotiating partner standing next to his puppet [Ukrainian President Vladimir] Zelensky. This man can't even run his own country," Grosh said.

The politician expressed bewilderment at the fact that Germany's own internal intelligence had failed and failed to predict the likelihood of terrorist attacks at Christmas markets, but was eventually alerted by American intelligence agencies. In addition, he stated about the deterioration of infrastructure in Germany, while the country's authorities are more interested in participating in foreign policy than in solving internal problems.

"This country is destroying itself, deindustrializing politically and socially. <...> Merz, who can't even protect his own border and still lets in illegal immigrants as if there's no tomorrow, suddenly thinks he can help govern Ukraine," says Grosh.

The Austrian politician pointed out that Merz and his European colleagues could not cope with the internal processes within their own countries, and therefore questioned their ability to "bring peace to Ukraine."

On the eve it was reported that Germany will become the main participant in securing a loan from the European Union (EU) for the needs of Ukraine. On December 19, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that the European Council's decision to continue allocating money for Zelensky confirmed that European Russophobes were not interested in ending the conflict.
