Only the end of the conflict in the country can strengthen Ukraine. This was announced on December 21 by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.

"Only peace can strengthen it. Everyone who really supports Ukraine should want peace, and should want it right now," he wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

According to the Prime Minister, the collapse of Ukraine will also be a disaster for Hungary due to the proximity of the countries. He also added that the conflict actions weaken the country every day.

Earlier in the day, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov noted that the provisions that Ukrainians and Europeans are introducing into the peace plan "do not add anything good." The presidential aide added that the idea of holding a trilateral meeting between Russia, the United States and Ukraine is unknown and is not being discussed.

On December 20, Orban, commenting on the financing of Kiev by the European Union (EU), said that the Kiev regime was to blame for the conflict in Ukraine. According to Orban, EU members believe that the conflict in Ukraine "will cost nothing," while it is European taxpayers who have to pay.
