Plushenko announced the end of cooperation with figure skater Kostyleva
Figure skater Evgeny Plushenko announced on December 21 that he had completed his collaboration with 14-year-old figure skater Elena Kostyleva.
"Well, friends, unfortunately, the hour has come when, with great regret, I have to inform you that our journey with Lena Kostyleva, unfortunately, has ended at the moment," he wrote in his Telegram channel.
Plushenko explained that the reason for the breakup was the interference of Kostyleva's mother, Irina, in the training process. The coach noted that over time he had been trying to adapt to this situation, but the conditions that had been set had become unacceptable to him.
He stressed that Kostyleva is a very talented figure skater. At the same time, speaking about further cooperation with her, Plushenko noted that he "puts dots" and expressed confidence that their path has not yet been completed.
On December 8, Plushenko stated that he did not intend to continue working as a coach with Kostyleva. He noted that the reason was the behavior of the athlete's mother. At the same time, he noted that he might change his position in the future.
