Insurers have listed car brands with the most expensive spare parts
New directories of the average cost of spare parts, which are used for CTP calculations, have been operating in Russia since December 19. The cost of spare parts in them remained almost unchanged compared to the previous version of the reference books (-1%), however, an increase was noted for a number of brands, the Russian Union of Motor Insurers (RSA) reported in its Telegram channel.
Thus, prices for Nissan (+6.6%), Renault (+5.1%), Chevrolet (+4.5%) brands showed a noticeable increase. At the same time, Toyota, Mercedes-Benz and Kia's indicators are in the general trend, the growth does not exceed 1.4%. At the same time, prices for spare parts for Chinese cars continue to decline, with the highest recorded for the Geely brand (by more than 10%).
The RSA noted that in a number of Russian regions there has been a noticeable increase in the average cost per standard hour of work, including for mass-produced car brands. As RSA President Evgeny Ufimtsev pointed out, this is an important trend that expands the possibilities of insurers to provide insurance compensation for CTP in kind, as the interest of service stations in carrying out repairs in the areas of insurance companies is growing.
At the same time, Ufimtsev said, currently about 95% of CTP car owners receive insurance payments rather than in-kind compensation, although there are drivers who would prefer in-kind compensation because they want to repair damage to the car.
Earlier, on December 9, the rules for calculating the cost of CTP policies changed in Russia. The tariff corridor has been expanded by 15% in both directions for almost all types of transport. The exception was motorcycles, for which the expansion was 40%. For passenger cars owned by individuals, insurance companies will be able to set a tariff in the range of 1399-8665 rubles.
