The State Duma announced a change in the names of a number of professions in Russia starting in 2026.

In the coming year, changes are coming to the all—Russian classifier of professions and positions. Earlier retirement, the allocation of additional pay for working conditions and the provision of additional leave to an employee depend on the name of the position held. This was announced on December 19 by State Duma deputy Alexei Govyrin.

"In 2026, changes in labor legislation will be felt by any employee, even if they are far from personnel niceties. First of all, the all-Russian classifier of professions and positions is changing. This is the basis of benefits and guarantees. The right to an earlier retirement, additional payments for working conditions, and additional vacations depends on the title of the position," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
