The Odintsovo school did not strengthen security measures after the teenager's attack

Security measures were not tightened at the Gorki-2 school in Odintsovo city district in the Moscow region after a teenager with a knife wounded a security guard and stabbed a student. On December 18, Izvestia was informed by the parents of the school's students.

According to Izvestia's interlocutors, the educational institution is still guarded by elderly people, and the security staff has been expanded by just one employee. In addition, the cameras in the facility are still not working.

The parents also claim that the school administration rejected their claims about the safety of the institution. The director, according to them, said that she was "not responsible," and also did not apologize to anyone for the tragedy.

The day before, the Russian Foreign Ministry expressed condolences to Tajikistan over the death of a child in an attack on a school. The official representative of the department, Maria Zakharova, noted that any human life has the highest value, regardless of citizenship or nationality, and Russia will do everything necessary for an objective investigation of the crime.

A teenager was attacked with a knife at a school in Odintsovo city district on December 16. One student was killed in the incident. According to the Izvestia source, there were no metal detectors in the educational institution. Upon learning of the incident, the teachers conducted an urgent evacuation.

Later it became known about the arrest of the attacker. The victims of the incident were taken to the L.M. Roshal Children's Scientific and Clinical Center. A criminal case was opened into the incident. During the interrogation, the attacker had previously admitted his guilt in the crime.

Andrey Vorobyov, the governor of the Moscow Region, called for an analysis of everything that led to the tragedy at the Odintsovo school. According to him, it is necessary to make sure that what happened does not happen again.
