Sobyanin spoke about the results of the Moscow project "Clear Sky"
Over the past 10 years, over 1,350 km of overhead lines have been removed underground in Moscow as part of the Clear Sky project. This was stated by the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin.
According to him, thanks to the work carried out, "Moscow has literally transformed — the overhanging wires have stopped spoiling the appearance of the city." "First, we put the iconic streets in the center in order," the mayor wrote on his channel in the IACH. "Then they took over facilities in other districts and outbound highways."
In the past year, work was carried out on Trade Union Street with 60th Anniversary of October Avenue, Volgogradsky Avenue with Marxistskaya Street, Shchelkovsky Highway with Krasnoprudnaya and Bolshaya Cherkizovskaya Streets, Akademika Sakharova Avenue, the territory of the Luzhniki Sports Complex and other facilities.
As the mayor noted, in addition to the aesthetic effect, the Clear Sky project brings important practical benefits. When placing wires in pipes underground, "they have convenient access through cable wells for repair and connection of new lines." Also, "the possibilities for providing emergency assistance are expanding — ambulance helicopters can land even on narrow streets," Sobyanin added.
In early December, the mayor announced that the renovation of recreational spaces had been completed in several districts of Moscow. "In the Begovy district, in the pedestrian zone from Leningradsky Prospekt to 2nd Botkin Passage, paths were put in order, additional paths were made, gazebos, benches, park swings, deck chairs and a dog walking area were placed," the mayor said.
In turn, swings and illuminated arches have been installed in Kosino-Ukhtomsky Boulevard in Kozhukhov's 4th microdistrict. There is also a playground with an amphitheater and trees have been planted, Sobyanin added, noting that for the authorities of the capital, the comfort of residents comes first.
