Moscow court confiscates property of former head of the Federal Tax Service of Ingushetia Kushtov

On December 17, the Gagarin Court of Moscow decided to confiscate the corrupt assets of the former head of the Federal Tax Service (FTS) for Ingushetia, Magomed Kushtov, in favor of the state. This follows from the materials of the court, which were reviewed by the RIA Novosti news agency.

"The court satisfied the claims of the General Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation," the document says.

It is specified that the lawsuit was filed against Kushtov and his relatives. The prosecutor's office demanded the confiscation of three apartments in Moscow, three land plots, a residential building, two houses and non-residential premises in North Ossetia, as well as residential premises in Ingushetia, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Toyota Land Cruiser, GMC Yukon cars.

According to the court, the lawsuit states that former officials of the Federal Tax Service for Ingushetia committed a crime that led to damage to the Russian budget in the amount of 137.1 million rubles.

Earlier, on December 9, the head of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation, Alexander Bastrykin, said that Russia could begin seizing the property of persons involved in corruption, as well as expand the use of confiscations, the relevant bill has already been sent to the government for consideration. Bastrykin said that illegally obtained assets are often transferred abroad, which makes it difficult to find and return them due to insufficient regulation by the law.
