With the start of the special military operation (SVO), Russia regained its status as a fully sovereign country. This was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on December 17.
"The main thing that happened during the special military operation is that Russia regained its full sovereignty status. Russia has become a sovereign country in every sense of the word. We have regained this status," the head of state said.
