Experts have selected the best educational projects in chemistry
Novokuibyshevskaya Petrochemical Company (part of the Rosneft oil refining and petrochemical complex) summed up the results of a competition for methodological developments by school chemistry teachers in the Samara region. Six projects became winners.
The presented methods and innovative solutions are aimed at developing engineering thinking skills among teenagers, expanding the range of practical and laboratory chemistry classes, the company noted. "By developing the interest of young people in exact sciences, the company contributes to the future of the region and lays the foundation for technological breakthroughs in the country," Rosneft emphasized.
The experts of the competition jury noted the high creative and professional potential of the pedagogical community of the Samara region. The winning projects will help introduce the best practices of additional education in the region's schools, according to Rosneft.
Thus, the author's program "Chemistry Together" was named one of the best for conducting experiments and developing students' skills in chemical analysis and the use of digital equipment. The jury also noted the Entertaining Chemistry program, a course that builds an understanding of chemical processes at the household level, which can be the first step towards a career in the food or petrochemical industries.
Another winning project, From Test Tube to Production, offers a ready—made engineering workshop where high school students act as technologists and solve cases from the practice of petrochemical enterprises. The course builds systems engineering thinking, which is important for future technologists. The program "Novokuibyshevsk. Chemistry. Science. Catalysts" involves the creation of a school—factory—research institute educational ecosystem. Students immerse themselves in the industrial and scientific environment of their hometown. Engineers and scientists transfer knowledge and experience to future specialists.
