The State Duma promised to assess the actions of the school security in Odintsovo.

Anatoly Vyborny, deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Security and Anti-Corruption, told Izvestia that, of course, after the attack at the Odintsovo school, an assessment of the actions of the security organization employee, as well as the degree to which the school is equipped with technical security equipment, would be given.

He recalled that since January 1, 2025, the national standard GOST R 58485-2024 has been in force in Russia, which establishes general requirements for ensuring the safety of educational organizations. The competent authorities will have to find out why the framework was missing in a particular case.

"In the context of growing security threats, compliance with all requirements for the organization of protection of educational institutions is an important tool for protecting the health and life of children, as well as ensuring a safe educational environment. Unfortunately, after a decrease in public attention, discipline and willingness to meet requirements often weaken. You can't afford to relax today. If security measures are being established, whether it's the scope of metal detectors or educational evacuations, they should be perceived as a necessary part of protecting children, and not as a formality," the deputy notes.

According to him, it is also alarming that no one noticed any changes in the student's behavior. No family, no teachers, no classmates — no one reacted to his behavior, statements, publications, threats. Everything suggested that he might be influenced by destructive groups on social media, but there was no reaction. This is also a problem, concluded Vyborny.

A schoolboy was attacked with a knife at a school in Odintsovo city district earlier that day. One student was killed in the incident. The incident occurred at a secondary school in the village of Gorki-2. According to the Izvestia source, there were no metal detectors in the educational institution. Later it became known about the arrest of the attacker. The injured were taken to the L.M. Roshal Children's Scientific and Clinical Center.

A criminal case was opened into the incident. During the interrogation, the attacker had previously admitted his guilt in the crime.

On the same day, the governor of the Moscow region, Andrei Vorobyov, called for an analysis of everything that led to the tragedy at the Odintsovo school. According to him, it is necessary to make sure that what happened does not happen again.
