Four shepherds froze to death while saving cattle in the Volgograd region. This was reported to Izvestia on December 16 in the press service of the Investigative Committee (IC).
It is specified that the snow storm began in the region on December 13, with wind gusts reaching 29 m/s. According to the Investigative Committee, four shepherds went to the steppe to rescue the cattle, but they failed to return.
"Every death is checked," the press service said.
On December 15, the government of the Yuzhno-Kurilsky district of the Sakhalin Region announced that an emergency regime had been introduced due to a powerful cyclone. Heavy rainfall and hurricane-force winds of 39 m/s left five settlements without electricity, including Yuzhno-Kurilsk, and damaged the roofs and facades of dozens of apartment buildings.
