A soldier of the 11th Separate Guards Airborne Assault Brigade with the call sign Grant single-handedly occupied a fortified position of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) during the battle. This was announced on December 15 by his colleague from the Dnepr group of forces with the call sign Filin.

"Young kid, call sign Grant. Ordinary at first glance. When I arrived, and accordingly there was a conversation, classes at the training ground, I did not think that he would behave and show himself in the way he did, I did not expect at all. And he showed himself in general, as if he were experienced," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
