At least seven people have been killed and 20 injured in severe flooding in western Morocco. This was reported on December 14 by the newspaper le360.

"After severe thunderstorms hit the region and caused exceptional flooding in a very short period, a preliminary report indicates seven deaths and significant property damage, with another 20 injured currently receiving medical care," the publication said.

The flooding affected the city of Safi, where the medina, Bir Anzaran Street and Abu Dahab Square were particularly affected. Torrents of water flooded about 70 houses and businesses, washed away about 10 cars, and damaged a section of road on provincial highway 2300, causing traffic disruptions.

On December 1, 355 people were reported dead as a result of the tropical storm in Sri Lanka, 366 people were missing. It was noted that cyclone "Ditva" brought with it strong winds and heavy rains. It caused the worst floods in Sri Lanka in the last decade. Earlier, the country's president, Anura Kumara Dissanayake, said that this was the first time that "the whole country had suffered from such a natural disaster," calling it the "largest and most difficult" in Sri Lanka's history.

Later, on December 14, it was reported that the death toll in Sri Lanka as a result of tropical cyclone Ditva reached 643 people, with another 184 missing.
