The VIII annual Heritage Youth Forum has ended in Moscow. The main topic is how to preserve and popularize cultural heritage by integrating historical monuments into the modern urban environment, the Mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, noted on his MAX channel.
According to the head of the capital, about 30 thousand people took part in the forum. "The capital's specialists in the field of restoration, protection and use of historical and cultural monuments were able to exchange opinions and best practices with colleagues from the regions," Sobyanin said.
The Forum included business, educational, and sightseeing programs. Traditionally, the meeting ended with a city festival with master classes and fascinating lectures from famous Moscow scholars.
A student competition was also held within the framework of Heritage, which was attended by over 500 students from more than 50 universities in Russia and other countries. The team from the Republic of Belarus became the best in the international part. Among the students from the capital, the winning team proposed to create a multifunctional community center in the production building of the Moscow Woolen Manufactory on Peter Alekseev Street. The team from Vladimir became the winner among the 12 participating regions.
