FPC changed routes of 12 trains due to derailment of wagons in Penza region

The route of 12 passenger trains was changed after the derailment of freight cars in the Penza region. This was announced on December 14 by the Federal Passenger Company (FPC).

"For the period of reconstruction work in connection with the derailment of freight cars in the Penza region, the following passenger trains have been sent via a modified route through the Syzran and Penza stations," the FPC Telegram channel reported.

Among the trains sent on the changed routes are trains from Moscow to Samara, Ufa, Ulyanovsk, Chelyabinsk, Orsk and Tolyatti, as well as trains from Ufa and Samara to St. Petersburg. Six trains, including services from Samara, Chelyabinsk and Ulyanovsk to Moscow, have already returned to the main routes. The company said that the railway workers are taking all measures to restore traffic.

The day before, a freight train and a locomotive collided in the Penza region during an accident, an emergency occurred at the Chais railway station. The investigators are conducting an inspection under Article 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of the rules of safety and operation of railway transport"). Russian Railways estimated the area of contamination at 750 square meters. m. A criminal case has been opened into the incident.
