The artist Gennady Ustyugov, whose works are in the collections of the Hermitage and the Russian Museum, died in St. Petersburg at the age of 89. This was announced on December 13 by Hermitage photographer Yuri Molodkovets.

"Gennady Afanasievich Ustyugov has died. 18.03.1937 — 12.12.2025. The Kingdom of Heaven," Molodkovets wrote on his Telegram channel.

Ustyugov was born in 1937 in Tokmak (Kirghiz SSR), after the war he moved to the Karelian Isthmus, and then to Novosaratovka. In 1974, he participated in the legendary exhibition at the Gaz Recreation Center.

In 1975 he became a member of the Association of Experimental Exhibitions. The artist's first solo exhibition was held in 1990 at the Museum of Urban Sculpture. His paintings are kept in the Hermitage, the Russian Museum and private collections around the world.
