Minsk and Tehran have agreed to hold joint military exercises
Belarus and Iran have agreed on military cooperation plans for 2026, which include joint exercises. This was announced on December 10 by Valery Revenko, head of the Department of International Military Cooperation of the Ministry of Defense of Belarus, on the social network X.
According to him, the work of the Iranian delegation in Minsk ended with the signing of a plan for the next period. Revenko noted that the key event of the document is a joint exercise on the territory of one of the states. He added that during the negotiations, priority was given to issues of training troops, training and military-technical cooperation.
Earlier, a delegation of the Iranian General Staff arrived in Minsk to discuss the prospects for bilateral cooperation.
Earlier, on November 30, it was reported that Minsk stands for constructive cooperation, despite the escalation in relations with the EU. At that time, it was emphasized that Belarus had invited EU countries and OSCE representatives to the Zapad-2025 exercises, but most states refused to participate. Minsk regarded this as confirmation of the course towards further escalation.
