Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu has arrived in Laos, where he will hold talks with the country's leadership and heads of law enforcement agencies. At Vientiane Airport, he was met by Russian Ambassador to Laos Sergey Hardy and Deputy Prime Minister of the Lao People's Democratic Republic (DPRK). "On December 11-12, meetings are scheduled with the country's top political and military leadership, heads of law enforcement agencies, and visits to the Monument to Soviet Pilots and the Memorial to Fallen Heroes. Sergei Shoigu is expected to be received by President of the DPRK Thonglong Sisulit and Prime Minister Songsai Siphandon," the press service said.

In addition, meetings are planned with Deputy Prime Ministers, Minister of Public Security Vilai Lakhamphong and Chairman of the Committee on Defense and Security of the Central Committee of the People's Revolutionary Party of the Lao People's Republic Tiansamon Tiannyalat.

"The agenda of the meetings includes discussion of issues on a wide range of Lao-Russian relations affecting coordination in the international arena, including in multilateral formats through ASEAN, regional security, military and military-technical cooperation, trade and economic relations," they added.

It is planned to discuss issues related to financial intelligence, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Justice and the Russian Guard.
