The servicemen of the Russian Armed Forces told the details of the liberation of Ostapovsky

The military personnel of the Vostok group of forces told the details of the liberation of the Ostapovskoye settlement in the Dnipropetrovsk region. This was announced on December 10 by the Russian Defense Ministry.

According to the ministry, the assault units of the 36th Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 29th Army confidently broke through the enemy's defenses and took control of more than 5 square kilometers of territory, including an important defense hub of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). During the fighting, the Ukrainian side lost a significant amount of manpower and equipment.

A stormtrooper with the call sign Shum noted that the advance was complicated by minefields and enemy drones.

"A machine-gun emplacement was found on the way. <...>. They went around the house, threw grenades, and cleared it. We gained a foothold and went on, house by house, until we passed almost the entire village," the soldier said.

The squad commander with the call sign Staff added that his group entered the village from an unexpected direction. According to him, the enemy expected an attack from the other side, which made it possible to surprise and disable the control center, where communications equipment and drones were located.

The marine joined the Crimean militia in 2014, and is now responsible for providing ammunition to an entire battalion.

Earlier, on December 9, it was reported that the calculation of the Solntsepek heavy flamethrower system of the Vostok group destroyed a fortified point of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Gulyai-Pole, Zaporizhia region. The impact of thermobaric ammunition eliminated enemy shelters and manpower, which created conditions for the further advance of Russian assault units.
