- The expert named the advantages of remote work during the rising incidence of influenza
Switching to a remote format during a period of increasing flu incidence helps protect employees, but requires adaptation of corporate processes. Anna Alikova, an independent HR expert, told Izvestia on December 9.
"Remote work reduces the risk of infection between colleagues and gives people more flexibility in organizing time. This increases satisfaction and saves the company's resources. Transportation and office space maintenance costs are also being reduced," she explained.
However, according to her, the remote mode also creates new difficulties: the quality of communication deteriorates, it is more difficult to control the completion of tasks, and some employees may experience a shortage of equipment and working tools at home.
Alikova stressed that maintaining team productivity requires clear management and new approaches. She recommended holding regular video broadcasts, setting goals and deadlines in advance, providing access to modern digital services, and not forgetting about people's health. Working remotely can sometimes lead to stress and isolation, so it's important to support employees, from online exercises to stress management consultations.
In addition, the expert added, it is becoming necessary for companies to update internal rules: fixing flexible schedules, regulations for online interaction and secure access to official data. Special attention should be paid to compliance with labor laws. Alikova recalled that the remote format requires correct paperwork, clear accounting of working hours and the preservation of all employee rights, including timely payment.
"Switching to remote work requires a thoughtful approach and willingness to make changes both on the part of the company and on the part of employees. This will not only help to cope with the current situation, but may also be an incentive for the overall modernization of work processes," concluded the specialist.
On the same day, State Duma deputy Alexei Kurinny called on employers and employees from regions with an increasing incidence of influenza to coordinate a temporary transition to remote work.
December 5, internist "Polyclinic.<url>" Alexander Pankovetsky warned about the danger of the Hong Kong flu. He specified that the most common symptoms are high fever up to 40 degrees, severe headache and muscle pain, chills, sore throat, as well as severe and prolonged dry cough. The therapist also warned that this disease cannot be tolerated on its feet due to the high risk of serious complications.
