The Green Button mobile platform for nature tourism has been shortlisted for the XXII National Runet 2025 Award in the IT in Tourism category.

The Green Button is a service created for tourists of specially protected natural territories of Russia. The platform, acting as a "guide in your pocket", provides ample opportunities for travelers who visit the protected areas of our country. It is also useful for the administrations of specially protected natural areas, as it allows to digitalize and optimize many procedures.

"I am glad that the Green Button was shortlisted for the Runet Prize. By the end of 2025, approximately half of all Kamchatka tourists who visited the protected areas of the region issued a permit through the "Green Button". In the first year of work at Smolenskoye Poozerye National Park, almost 10,000 tourists registered in the app. At the moment, several more territories are in the process of digitalization. We hope that by February we will make users of two more regions happy," Alexander Zheleznyak, CEO of the Green Button, commented on the news.

The application operates in all specially protected natural areas of Kamchatka and in Smolenskoye Poozerye National Park. According to the authors of the service, tourists see not just a standard map of the region, but all authorized routes and specific objects. This data is controlled by moderators of protected areas, who can independently add items or adjust information about them. In case of emergencies, they can add an emergency announcement in the park, and tourists can provide their coordinates to the rescue service (the "Green button" allows you to accurately provide your coordinates). For the administrations of natural territories, the application works as a digital ecosystem in which tourist flows, money and popular routes are monitored with full tracking of visits.

Along with the mobile platform, the shortlist of the IT in Tourism nomination also includes the following projects: the travel service RUSPASS (ANO Project Office for the Development of Tourism and Hospitality in Moscow), the mobile application of the Ingilor Nature Park (ANO Center for Tourism Development in the Polar Urals), the information and analytical system Tourist Atlas (MGIMO of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia), Discover Russia travel portal (ANO National Priorities, Ministry of Economic Development of Russia, Center for Strategic Research Foundation).

The Runet Award, organized by the Association for Electronic Communications (RAEC), has been held since 2004 and is of key importance for the IT industry. The nominees are industry leaders who have made a significant contribution to the development of domestic technologies and the formation of Russia's digital system. This year's award ceremony will take place on December 14 at the Pashkov House. The winners of the Award will be determined based on the results of the review of the works by the expert council and the national vote.
