Politico reported on Japan's rejection of the EU plan for frozen assets of the Russian Federation

The Japanese authorities have abandoned the European Union's plan to confiscate frozen Russian assets and use them to lend to Ukraine. This was reported on December 8 by the newspaper Politico, citing sources.

"Japan has made it clear that it cannot use about $30 billion worth of Russian assets frozen on its territory to issue loans to Ukraine," the publication says.
