In Germany, a Russian woman accused in the case of the "Reichsburgers" was released
A German court has released from custody a Russian citizen who is being held by the accused in the case of the so-called "Reichsburgers" group around Heinrich XIII Prince Reuss, after almost three years of detention in a pre-trial detention center. This was reported on December 7 by the German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ).
"The court no longer considered it appropriate to keep the woman in custody. The court took into account the potential punishment and the fact that she has already spent three years in pre—trial detention," the publication says.
It is specified that the woman was released from custody on Monday. The remaining eight defendants remain under arrest.
On November 11, a Polish citizen was arrested in Germany for calling for attacks on political figures, including former Chancellors Olaf Scholz and Angela Merkel. According to the newspaper, the man belongs to the Reichsburgers movement, which denies the legitimacy of Germany.
