An MMA fighter was detained for sparring with a monument in Moscow

A man who was training boxing punches at the monument to veterans of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in Moscow was detained. This was announced on December 6 by the press service of the Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the city.

"The investigators of the capital's Investigative Committee detained the person involved and charged him," the department wrote on its Telegram channel.

It is specified that the defendant has been charged. During the interrogation, the man confessed his guilt and repented of what he had done.

According to the press service of the department, the investigation intends to apply for the election of a preventive measure in the form of detention.

It is proposed to collect from 10 thousand to 500 thousand rubles from violators.

A criminal case was opened against the wrestler the day before after the publication of a video showing a man training at the memorial. It was clarified that earlier Zaur Ismailov posted a video in which he imitates punches and kicks at a statue of a child in the capital's Dmitry Mikhaylik square. After harsh criticism on social media, the post was deleted.

Later, the chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, instructed to report on the progress of the investigation of the criminal case against the fighter. He is charged under clause "b" of Part 2 of Article 243.4 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Destruction, damage or desecration of military graves, as well as monuments, steles, obelisks, other memorial structures or objects perpetuating the memory of those who died defending the Fatherland or its interests or dedicated to the days of military glory of Russia").
