The police of the Western District of Moscow detained a suspect in the desecration of a monument to veterans of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the capital announced this in the Max messenger on Friday, December 5.

As a result of a complex of operational search measures, police officers of the Department of Internal Affairs for the Western Administrative District (CJSC) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Moscow and the district department of the Federal Security Service of Russia for Moscow and the Moscow Region detained the suspect, the Moscow City News agency reports.

The detained man, born in 1986, was taken to the department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Fili-Davydkovo district to clarify all the circumstances of the incident.

Earlier, mixed martial arts fighter Zaur Ismailov posted a video in which he imitates punches and kicks at a statue of a child in Dmitry Mikhaylik Square in Moscow. After harsh criticism on social media, the post was deleted.
