A case of fraud during the renovation of a school was opened in the Omsk region
A criminal case has been opened in the Omsk region on fraud during the renovation of school No. 1 in the working village of Muromtsevo. This was announced by the SU IC of Russia for the region on Friday, December 5.
The investigation believes that from November 2024 to June 2025, the contractor involved several people in the work without officially concluding a contract with him. The people did not receive payment, the total amount owed to them amounted to more than 1.6 million rubles.
A criminal case has been opened under Part 3 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Fraud". The maximum sanction of this article provides for up to six years in prison.
According to IA OmskMedia, in 2024, repair work at the facility was carried out by local residents and migrants, later some of the workers were replaced by schoolchildren and teenagers who wanted to earn their first money. The contractor promised to pay them after receiving payment from the customer, but the payment was never made.
According to the FAS, there have been no workers and equipment at the facility since June 2025. In the fall, Rostpromstroy LLC was added to the Register of Unscrupulous Contractors for two years. The cost of the contract with the company for the renovation of the school was 120 million rubles.
