Four people remain in hospital after an accident with a minibus near Chita.

Four people remain in the regional clinical hospital in Chita, injured in a collision between a minibus and a truck carrying logs. This was reported to ChitaMedia news agency by the press service of the Ministry of Health of the Trans-Baikal Territory.

In total, five people were injured in the accident. The condition of three victims is assessed as serious, one is in moderate condition, and the fifth did not require hospitalization, the Ministry of Health said.

The accident occurred on the evening of December 4 on the 48th km of the A-350 federal highway near the village of Makkaveevo, Chita region. According to preliminary data, the driver of a micro-truck loaded with wood drove into oncoming traffic and crashed into a Ford Transit minibus operating a regular Chita – Tin flight.

As a result of the collision, the passenger of the truck was killed. The driver of the minibus, his two passengers and another passenger of the truck were taken to the regional clinical hospital with injuries.

The Investigative Committee has begun checking for signs of a crime under Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Provision of services that do not meet security requirements."

On December 5, another fatal accident involving a truck and a minibus carrying firewood occurred in Transbaikalia. Two adults and three children were killed.
