In 2026, the medical examination program in Russia will undergo some changes. The chief physician of the Health Strategy clinic network, internist Dmitry Demidik, in a conversation with Izvestia, spoke about key innovations that will affect the order of medical examinations in 2026.

According to him, the adjustments are spot-based, but they are important for improving the quality of preventive medicine.

"In 2026, for the first time, the program includes testing for viral hepatitis, in particular hepatitis C, as well as an expanded block on reproductive health. This is a study on human papillomavirus and liquid cytology," the specialist noted.

He explained that special attention is paid to the accessibility of examinations for people with limited mobility and sedentary mobility. A separate regulation is being introduced for them, allowing the doctor to go to the house to collect tests or ensure the delivery of patients to the clinic.

"The goal of medical examinations in 2026 is directly related to improving the reproductive health of the population — this is relevant against the background of a declining birth rate. All citizens over the age of 18 can undergo an examination. For people aged 18-39, it is carried out every three years, after 40 — annually," Demidik emphasized.
