Pensioner gave more than 2.5 million rubles to fraudsters in Buryatia

Fraudsters have twice deceived a pensioner in Buryatia. The 55-year-old man lost more than 2.5 million rubles.

According to the UlanMedia news agency, the victim had already contacted the police in October. Then he expected to receive income from the "investments" and transferred 21 thousand rubles to an outside account. This time, the scammers offered the man "legal services" and assistance in refunding funds. For several days, a resident of the Kyakhtinsky district carried out transfers of large sums allegedly to bank commissions and "bribes". To make sure, the scammers sent the man a fake receipt.

The police are conducting an investigation into the incident. The law enforcement agencies reminded that there are no lawyers who can return money stolen by fraudsters for a fee.

In Krasnoyarsk, the police managed to return 650 thousand rubles to a 77-year-old pensioner, which she handed over to scammers. Interior Ministry officers detained a 19-year-old boy who performed the tasks of a courier for telephone fraudsters.
