The United States is preparing a plan for the departure of Nicolas Maduro from the post of president of Venezuela. This was announced on December 2 by Pentagon press Secretary Kingsley Wilson during a briefing.

"The Ministry has an action plan for any case <...> If something unexpected happens somewhere in the world, we already have a prepared and ready response," she said, answering a question about the possible resignation of the Venezuelan leader.

According to Wilson, to date, the US armed forces have carried out 21 strikes against drug gangs.

"To date, 21 kinetic strikes have been carried out against drug traffickers in our hemisphere, as a result of which 82 drug terrorists have been killed," the spokeswoman said.

Along with this, the Pentagon noted that the operation to destroy the "narco-terrorists" has just begun.

On the eve of the White House press Secretary Caroline Leavitt said that the use of lethal weapons by the United States against drug traffickers complies with the norms of international law on armed conflict.

The Washington Post (WP) reported on November 22 that the US administration has repeatedly ignored the concerns of lawyers who warned about the illegality of attacks on drug traffickers in the Caribbean. According to the newspaper, the actions of the United States in the Caribbean are "excessively burdensome with legal risks."
