Investigators began checking after the fishermen disappeared on Sakhalin

The Investigative Committee has launched an investigation into the disappearance of two fishermen in the waters of the Sea of Okhotsk in the Sakhalin region. The missing have not been in touch for several days.

According to SakhalinMedia news agency, on November 26, the skipper and a passenger took to the water on a boat with an outboard motor near the mouth of the Poronai River. On November 27, five rescuers from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations went in search of them. The search operation continues, and on December 1, the group began to survey the coastline south of Poronaysk.

Investigators of the Sakhalin Investigative Department for Transport are conducting a check on the signs of a crime under Article 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of traffic safety rules and operation of inland waterway transport").

In Yakutia, a local resident went fishing in early October and stopped contacting. In mid-November, police found a wormwood into which a man had fallen on a snowmobile.
