- An international documentary film Festival was held in Kabardino-Balkaria and South Ossetia.
The International Documentary Film Festival has ended in the city of military glory Nalchik. On November 29, the program included documentaries from the North Caucasus Federal District, including Temirzhan Baysiev's painting "The War at the Next Table." The film is dedicated to the memory of the military commander of the Izvestia Military Training Center, Semyon Eremin. In the spring of 2024, he died in the Zaporozhye area. The war correspondent was a friend of the author of the documentary, Temirzhan Baysiev. The film also showed the life of the participants of the SVO from Kabardino-Balkaria. There is a deep human experience behind each story, which allows us to better understand the price that the characters pay for the peaceful sky above their heads.
The Nalchik festival was held thanks to the decision of Yuri Chaika, the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the North Caucasus Federal District: "This event certainly occupies a special place in the cultural life of the North Caucasus. It provides an opportunity to touch real human destinies and experiences through the screen, and most importantly, to convey important meanings and reach the hearts of the audience."
Songs about the Great Patriotic War and the special military operation united generations with an invisible thread. Symbolically and touchingly, the composition "From the heroes of bygone Times" was performed by 92-year-old Mustafa Abdullayev, who was a child during the Second World War, and veteran of the SVO Kantemir Tokmakov.
The main premiere of the festival was a film by RT military documentarian.Olga Kiri's doc "From captivity". This is the poignant story of Denis Reznikov, a native of Makeyevka. He was brutally tortured, and footage of his torment was sent to Lisa, Denis' daughter. A 17-year-old girl was blackmailed and tried to force her to cooperate, but she did not break down. The guests of the evening were able to personally communicate with Lisa — she was in the audience.
In parallel with Kabardino-Balkaria, the festival was held in South Ossetia. On November 29, viewers in Nalchik and Tskhinvali simultaneously watched the film "Odin. Field. The Warrior..." by Artyom Somov and Ruslan Gusarov — about a sapper scout from Dagestan. Zakarya Aliyev (Smiley Face call sign) For three weeks, he defended himself alone in a stronghold recaptured from the Ukrainian Armed Forces. And after the show, both cities got in direct contact and took part in the panel discussion "The Caucasus in action: multinational unity in its own territory."
"I am very grateful to the organizers of this festival for finding the opportunity to show these wonderful films here in South Ossetia. Our republic lives by this event. Why? Because a lot of our guys are fighting with our Russian fighters on the fields of the special operation. And this is very important for us," Alan Dzhioev, Deputy Prime Minister of South Ossetia, said from the stage of the festival site in Tskhinvali.
And already on December 3-5, the festival will be held in the hero city of Murmansk, at the Center for Cultural Development (39 Askoldovtsev St.).
