Sobyanin named the winners of the "Moscow is a kind City" contest
The results of the seventh grant competition for socially oriented non—profit organizations (NPOs) "Moscow is a kind City" have been summed up in Moscow. This was announced by the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, in his personal blog.
Since 2019, 738 projects have been approved under the program, for which 2.8 billion rubles have been allocated from the budget. In 2025, the competition covered six priority areas: assistance to ITS participants and their families; support for families with children and adults with disabilities; assistance to large families, foster families, orphans and adolescents in difficult situations; development of volunteerism and mentoring; social adaptation and probation programs; as well as initiatives to promote a healthy lifestyle..
Out of 380 submitted applications, the commission selected 90 winners, whose projects will be launched in 2026. Among the winners are NGOs specializing in helping people with disabilities, in assisted living, as well as working with large and foster families, orphaned children and teenagers in crisis. The support of ITS participants and their families accounted for 14% of the number of winners — this category showed a twofold increase compared to last year.
Grants are divided into three categories: 16% of NGOs have received up to 1 million rubles, 47% of winners have received amounts from 1 to 5 million rubles, and 37% of organizations will receive grants from 5 to 10 million rubles. The total budget of the competition is 400 million rubles.
Specific charitable and social initiatives include projects aimed at inclusive education and work adaptation of people with disabilities, assistance to children from foster families and orphanages, support for families with children, as well as social support for veterans and participants of their military education and their loved ones.
