Kazakova announced a future ban on films discrediting traditional values.

On March 1, 2026, a law banning films in Russia that discredit traditional Russian spiritual and moral values will come into force, obliging online cinema owners not to distribute such films. This was announced on November 28 by Olga Kazakova, head of the State Duma Committee on Culture.

"On March 1, 2026, a law comes into force that imposes on online cinema owners the obligation to prevent the distribution of audio-visual works containing discrediting or propaganda of denial of traditional Russian spiritual and moral values," RIA Novosti quoted her as saying.
