Russian Ambassador Gonchar says NATO is preparing for a conflict with Russia

The North Atlantic Alliance is actively preparing the population of its countries for a possible large-scale clash with Russia, although there are no real threats from Moscow. This was stated on November 27 by Russian Ambassador to Belgium Denis Gonchar at a joint Russian-Belarusian event in Brussels.

According to the diplomat, the NATO leadership consciously supports the idea of imaginary "Russian aggression", using it as an excuse to increase military activity near the Russian borders.

"In turn, the EU is imposing rampant militarization, burying the original concept of a united Europe in the name of peace and prosperity and turning itself into an appendage of NATO. As a result, Europe is rapidly losing its global weight and competitiveness. I am sure that the founding fathers of European countries did not wish the Old World such a future," Gonchar stressed, RIA Novosti reports.
