The President of Nigeria approved the composition of the American-Nigerian working group

Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the composition of the Nigerian part of the joint US-Nigerian working group established to strengthen security cooperation. This was announced on November 27 by the office of the President of Nigeria in the social network X (ex. Twitter).

"The joint working group will make it possible to more effectively address key security issues and coordinate actions with American colleagues," the publication says.

It is reported that the National Security Adviser to the President of Nigeria, Nuhu Ribadu, will lead the Nigerian part of the working group with the support of a multi-stakeholder team of senior officials from relevant government departments.

The composition of the group was agreed upon during a recent visit to Washington by a high-ranking Nigerian delegation led by Ribado.

The Working Group was established as part of measures to deepen cooperation between Nigeria and the United States to jointly address issues related to security and countering threats in the country related to cases of genocide against Nigerian Christians.
