People are starting to decorate their houses and apartments by the New Year 2026. About what ideas exist for this, on November 27, "Gazeta.Ru" was told by Ksenia Kuznetsova, designer and product director of the interior company Mr.Doors.
"The hallway is the first room that household members, relatives, and guests enter when entering the house. That is why it is important to identify the unique holiday atmosphere from the moment you enter the apartment. Decorating the front door with a wreath with references to the coming year can help here," the designer noted.
The main room for New Year's Eve celebrations is usually the living room, so it's also important to decorate it.
"Create a cozy area by the fireplace or TV in this room with the help of compositions of candles in red and gold candlesticks, decorative lanterns and lights. Arrange pillows in warm shades on the sofas, add blankets in red and copper tones," explained Kuznetsova.
The fir tree has been associated with this holiday for several centuries. The expert suggested many options for decorating it.
"Choose a live or artificial Christmas tree with classic shapes and colors. Decorate it with balls of red, bright orange, copper shades. You can add toys and figurines associated with horses to the decor of the fir tree: figurines of horses, horseshoes, bells. If you like electric garlands, give preference to light bulbs in the same shades to support the overall concept. Decorative beads will be an alternative to such garlands," the designer said.
Earlier, on November 26, Cooper delivery analysts talked about the cost of home decorations for the New Year. According to analysts, an artificial spruce can be bought at a price starting from 1,590 rubles, and a live tree will cost from 5,000 rubles.
